Keep both versions visible
A revised option or quantity should not erase the original agreement. Keep the proposed amendment alongside the released revision so the order team can compare what changed.
Review the work affected
Check whether the destination has accepted the order and whether production has started or finished. Identify the affected lines or units before choosing whether to hold, replace, cancel or create linked remake work.
Separate a change from its consequences
A cancelled balance, a returned item and a remake have different meanings. Record the agreed decision and quantities rather than treating every outcome as a single order status.
Agree the boundary with your current system
The evaluation establishes who may accept a change, where production progress comes from and how the receiving system acknowledges the revision. Already completed work remains part of the history.
